Caitlin Polistena, MD

Bios

Caitlin Polistena, MD, is the newest member of the PSSL team.  She has a strong interest in weight loss surgery, hernia surgery, and surgery for the treatment of acid reflux. She has advanced training in laparoscopic weight loss surgery, as well as other surgeries of the foregut including Nissen fundoplication for acid reflux and Heller myotomy for achalasia. In addition to foregut surgery, Dr. Polistena is skilled in the treatment of various types of hernia including those of the groin (inguinal, femoral), abdominal wall (umbilical, ventral), and diaphram (hiatal or paraesophageal).

Dr. Polistena received her undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College in 2007 and her medical degree from New York Medical College in 2014. She completed surgical residency at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY in 2019 and went on to complete a minimally invasive and bariatric surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida.
